Black Carpet

Black carpet looks great in houses that have dark interior furniture and wallpaper. Black carpets blend in perfectly and don’t allow stains to show up as much as white or lighter colored carpets. Having a black carpet is also a great way to hide carpet stains and animal fur shedding – especially if the animal has a dark black coat. Having a black carpet is also considered unique; most people do not have black-colored carpets – they are fairly uncommon.

Black carpets are not as common though nowadays due to the fact that people are shying away from darker furniture. If people order a darker carpet, it is usually a darker green, dark grey, or dark brown. Hardly ever do we see a new black carpet getting installed in someone’s living room. Black and white carpets are still relatively common on the interior of cars. Are people afraid that they are going to attract the black carpet beetle if they install a new layer of black carpet? Or do the majority of people just not like something about the way it looks compared to other colors like gray, tan, or brown?

Anyways, the only time a black carpet has been spotted recently was the BET black carpet. In case you don’t understand, the channel BET (black entertainment television) aired a show called “black carpet.” Actually, it may have not aired but that’s beside the point. This “black carpet” show started back in 2006 and did not make it through 2009. It had a decent sized following that left many people confused as to why it was dropped from their programming.

Danella and the other host Toure were in charge of making sure the show went smoothly. It was a show all about African-American celebs. Since stars normally walk the “red carpet,” this show wanted to be clever with the titling and decided to call it the “black carpet.” Whoever was behind the choosing of the show name could have definitely picked a wittier name than “black carpet.”

Anyways, the show was on every week for a solid year and a half. Both of the hosts let people know that the show was dropped in 2008. On the show, Danella helped people understand African-American celebs from urban areas, while Toure was more authentically involved in journalism. While the show was on the air, it was able to give people an inside view to some of the highest paid, most famous celebs. The interviews on the “black carpet” were always pretty interesting and for this reason, many people enjoyed the show.

With this show, BET was able to provide its viewers with a more in-depth perspective on the lifestyles of rich African-Americans. The show allowed Toure and Danella to cover some great events like a pro-basketball all star game and be involved with Tyra’s modeling show. Like all shows on BET, this show was definitely tailored towards African-American teenagers who wanted to know about the latest fashion and latest fads among African-American celebs.

Each episode usually was filmed in New York City and was shown on television at around eight-o’clock on Thursdays. It has obviously been replaced and it isn’t by any other color carpet show. The “black carpet” was a cool show and everyone who watched it was glad that it lasted at least one year on black entertainment television before getting dropped from the schedule lineup.

The next time you feel that there should be more black carpet in your life, be sure to replay those old recordings of the BET show or if you are looking for a little bit of spice inside of your house, go out to a furniture store and order some carpet color samples to see how a black carpet would look. I hope this article isn’t too confusing due to the fact that it was an attempt to combine a mini-review of the “bet black carpet” with getting actual black carpets for the interior of your home.
